Full List of Zoro’s Swords in One Piece

Zoro’s collection of swords includes both cursed blades and legendary weapons. Some are tied to deep emotional connections, while others enhance his power. Let’s dive into the swords Zoro has used throughout the series.

1. Wado Ichimonji

  • Grade: One of the 21 Great Grade Swords (Ō Wazamono)
  • Description: Wado Ichimonji is Zoro’s most iconic sword, and it has been with him since the beginning of his journey. Originally owned by his childhood friend, Kuina, Zoro inherits it after her tragic death, vowing to fulfill their shared dream of becoming the greatest swordsman. Known for its exceptional durability and sharpness, it is a critical part of Zoro’s Santoryu style.
  • Current Status: Zoro continues to wield Wado Ichimonji, demonstrating its resilience and sharpness in battle.

2. Sandai Kitetsu

  • Grade: A lower-grade cursed sword (Wazamono)
  • Description: Sandai Kitetsu is a cursed sword, infamous for bringing misfortune to its wielder. Zoro acquires it in Loguetown, where he tests the sword's curse by tossing it into the air and nearly losing his arm. Despite its dangerous nature, the sword possesses a razor-sharp edge and wild power, making it a formidable weapon in Zoro's arsenal.
  • Current Status: Zoro still wields Sandai Kitetsu as part of his three-sword style.

3. Yubashiri

  • Grade: One of the 50 Skillful Grade Swords (Ryō Wazamono)
  • Description: Yubashiri was a lightweight, easy-to-handle sword that Zoro received as a gift from Ipponmatsu, a swordsmith in Loguetown. It served Zoro well during his early adventures with the Straw Hat Pirates. Unfortunately, Yubashiri was destroyed during the Enies Lobby arc by a Marine captain with the ability to rust metal.
  • Current Status: Yubashiri was destroyed but was honored by Zoro on Thriller Bark.

4. Shusui

  • Grade: One of the 21 Great Grade Swords (Ō Wazamono)
  • Description: Shusui is a legendary black blade once wielded by the famous samurai Ryuma. Zoro acquires Shusui after defeating Ryuma’s reanimated corpse on Thriller Bark. Known for its durability and power, Shusui was a perfect fit for Zoro, although its heavy weight initially challenged him. The sword, however, was eventually returned to Wano, creating unrest in the country.
  • Current Status: Shusui was returned to Wano and replaced by Enma.

5. Enma

  • Grade: One of the 21 Great Grade Swords (Ō Wazamono)
  • Description: Enma is a legendary sword forged by the renowned smith Shimotsuki Kozaburo. Once wielded by Kozuki Oden, Enma is capable of drawing out vast amounts of Haki from its user, making it a difficult weapon to control. Zoro’s growth as a swordsman is reflected in his mastery of Enma, which he now wields after returning Shusui to Wano.
  • Current Status: Zoro currently wields Enma as part of his three-sword style.

Other Notable Swords Zoro Has Used

  • Johnny and Yosaku’s Katanas: Early in the series, Zoro borrowed swords from his bounty hunter friends, Johnny and Yosaku, before obtaining his own set.
  • Unnamed Marine Swords: In moments of need, Zoro has used random swords, especially when his primary blades were unavailable.

Which Sword is the Strongest?

While Zoro has wielded a variety of swords, Wado Ichimonji and Enma stand out as his most powerful weapons.

  • Wado Ichimonji is more than just a sword; it holds immense sentimental value for Zoro. Despite this, it doesn’t have the unique abilities that Enma offers.
  • Enma, however, is a sword that amplifies Zoro’s power by drawing out his Haki. The sword’s difficulty to control makes it a true test of Zoro’s growth, and its power surpasses that of Wado Ichimonji in terms of raw strength.

In conclusion, Enma is likely the strongest sword in Zoro’s collection due to its ability to enhance his Haki and push his swordsman skills to new heights. However, Wado Ichimonji remains a close contender, not only due to its unmatched durability but also its deep emotional connection to Zoro’s journey.
